Do you want a drink and don't want to brew a coffee? Use coffee liquor! This Kahlua recipe is the easiest with four ingredients you already have and the best tasting - I make it in large batches ❤️
Coffee spirits are super versatile, sweet with coffee flavor. You can use it just like you would a shot of espresso by mixing any flavor syrup you want, adding cream, and if you throw in some vodka then you have a quick White Russian. That's usually my go-to.

This recipe uses a pot of brewed coffee and will make over a handle's worth of liquor. You can easily half it or you can use water and instant coffee if that's what you prefer. You can use any flavor of coffee you'd like as well, just keep future drinks in mind. I do actually like using flavored coffee and usually use something that pairs well with most of my favorite flavors like Highlander Grog ☕️
Ingredients
6 cups (about one pot) of brewed coffee
1 lb of brown sugar
2 cups vodka
4 TBL vanilla
Step 1: Boil Coffee with Brown Sugar
Mix coffee and brown sugar together in a medium-sized pot over high heat, bring to a boil and ensure all sugar is dissolved.
Step 2: Cool Down
Remove your sugar coffee from the burner and let it cool completely.
Step 3: Add Vodka and Vanilla
Once the liquid is completely cooled, add your vodka and vanilla. Store in an airtight container.
I love making drinks in these glasses:
I usually reuse a vodka handle, or you can store your homemade Kahlua in this super cute milk jug:
And that's it!
I told you it was easy; I literally make this all the time and give away jars as gifts. It's a strong liquor so be sure to add some good mixers! What are your favorite ways to use coffee spirits? Follow me on Instagram and Facebook for more drink inspiration - thanks for reading! ❤️
